wooden saint carving and carvers
Welcome to the Puerto Rican Wooden Saints portal!
Our purpose is to familiarize the public with the Puerto Rican tradition of carving wooden saints—an expression of folk art with a long history on our island of Puerto Rico.
Our website demonstrates that the tradition of Puerto Rican saint carving remains alive and that its preservation and dissemination are of interest to new generations of Puerto Ricans living all over the world, as well as to foreigners who appreciate them for their artistic quality.
